I am exploring how noticing what our bodies feel can help us generate consensual interdependence, question dogma, and develop responsiveness to the ever-shifting nature of self and togetherness.
I offer care from a biopsychosocial perspective. I think we all deserve to be encountered with our wholeness and complexity acknowledged.
I see our collective entanglement as a fundamental truth. I am trying to track how systems and convention impact people and how ideas about bodies are felt in our bodies.
I hold our autonomy and agency with great reverence, which means I believe you are the authority on you. I also believe holding our individuality alongside our belonging helps us practice vulnerability and cooperative reciprocity. When we are centered in our awareness, we are able to operate from intention rather than reactivity.
My work is relational. I organize around resilience and curiosity, and I attempt to resist either/or thinking. I am available for meta-conversation about our interactions, and I am open to questions, feedback, relevant disclosure, and critique.
I try to notice dominance or control based thoughts and behavior in myself. I mess up sometimes both because of and in spite of my intentions. I am accountable for the impact I have on you.
My care is grounded by continuing education and on-going research. I consult with and seek supervision from more experienced practitioners to ensure Iām providing ethical and appropriate care.
As a healthcare provider part of my responsibility is knowing my own limitations. If the support you need is beyond the scope of my practice or capacity, I will communicate this and offer you referrals to other providers.
