Many cultures carry wisdoms and traditions which have been extracted by individuals, organizations, and institutions without acknowledgment of their origins or the impact of extraction on the culture of origin.
As a person practicing a form of care outside of my ancestry on land my ancestors never knew, I am committed to examining how these dynamics shape me personally and professionally.
I do not wish to extend cultural knowledge that originates outside my ancestry without finding ways to contribute to the communities these offerings come from and the land I live on.
